    If you're undertaking a construction project in California, it's essential to obtain a permit from the city/county before starting construction. Some exceptions include activities like changing flooring and painting. However, when it comes to constructing a new structure, such as a custom home or an ADU, you must have plans stamped by a licensed engineer and submit them to the city/county for approval. Once your plans are approved and the fees are paid, you'll be authorized to obtain a building permit, and only then the licensed contractor may begin your construction project. Once you're satisfied with the design, we'll handle all the necessary steps to secure city approvals and building permits.
